Choose a nice day for a trip to enjoy your leisure time after heavy work. Vehicle has become indispensable part during your journey, for the most convenient and fastest one, airplane of course. But some people usually suffer from dizziness, chest tightness, nausea, flatulence and distension even vomiting when taking a plane, which will strongly influence the originally good mood, and may even leave regret for your travel. Those symptoms have a lot to do with your diet before boarding the flight. So, here below are some tips helping you to have a happy and easy time on the plane.

Avoid eating much meat or high protein food, because they will stay much longer time in your stomach, and hard to be digested. It generally takes 4 to 5 hours to empty stomach, adding to the secretion capacity ofpeptic juice decreasing when people in air, make the digestive function of the stomach weaken, cause some reactions of poor digestion like flatulence or hiccup. So, it’s advisable to eat some light food before boarding the plane.

Avoid eating a lot of rough fiber food. Under normal conditions, there are 1000 ml. gases in one’s gastrointestinal tract and 80 percent of which are generated from mouth gulping and 20 percent are from food digestion. With rise of flying altitude, air pressure becomes lower and lower, and the gases in gastrointestinal tract will expand. When flying up to the altitude of 5000 meters, gases in gastrointestinal tract will increase 2 to 4-fold than on the ground, so if you eat some food easily generating gases like aerated water, beer or radish, you will easily feel unpleasant.

Don’t take plane with eating too much food or nothing. When flying high into the air, the gastrointestinal blood supply decreases correspondingly, cause the reduction of gastrointestinal peristalsis, detrimental to the assimilation of food. So, eating too much before boarding the plane will aggravate the burden of your heart. Oppositely, it’s unsuitable to eat nothing, because the consumption of blood sugar increasing will produce some reaction of glucopenia like dizziness, nausea and vomiting. So properly eating some food can avoid those bad symptoms.
